It worked for my daughter. She learned some new words from the book.

Too boring and the explanations are not clear.

Summary

My daughter used Wordly Wise 3000 series before. She found the reading passages boring and sometimes the explanation of words given were confusing to her. We quit after 2 months and selected Beestar's online vocabulary program instead. It turned out that she likes Beestar much better.Thanks to Beestar's interactive and honor roll ranking, my daughter finds the exercises fun to do. Besides completing the Beestar's weekly practice on Sunday, she also spends 10 minutes reading its vocabulary articles. These articles are up-to-date and provide very clear explanations for each new word. She has learned about 1,000 new words through reading and answering questions so far. Now the vocabulary list on her textbook becomes easy since she has already known most of them. I can see her become more confident in vocabulary. We will definitely keep using Beestar.
